April and May are the months when rhododendrons bloom. These flamboyant plants produce an incredible show, but they need acid soil to thrive, and if yours tends towards the neutral, or alkaline spectrum, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle. Better to grow plants that will love your conditions. But there are plenty of places across the county that you can go and see rhododendrons in all their glory.
